Default I had the same problem...

I, like you, have a long torso and short legs (29") and had difficulty deciding on what size to get for my last bike. I ended up getting a Medium Klein Mantra with just barely enough clearance for standover height. I tried the size Small and it seemed too cramped in the upper body, yet there was plenty of standover height. You might feel the same when you try the small size.

If you don't like either the small or med HOO KOO E KOO, I would recommend trying a different manufacturer, other than Gary Fisher. You might find one that caters more to your body dimensions. Not all bike manufacturers use the same bike geometry. They vary slightly and it could be the difference between uncomfortable and comfortable.

I'm a touch over 6ft and ride a 17" Giant. Good fit.

I don't think you can get rear discs on that frame...no db mounts.
