Default Oy! Sears make angry!

So, after reading in the Forums that the Sears batteries are decent, I search online for a battery that will for my 2.8Q. I get the part number, go to sears, and talk to the sales rep there about getting a battery. Anyhow, he types my car info into the computer, comes up with a different part number. (The Group 48). I figure I wrote down the wrong number, so I buy it. I get it home, its WAY smaller than what was there before. I recheck the web, I had written it down correctly, and it looked like that battery was a much more appropriate size. (apparently a group 49)

Anyhow, went back and traded batteries, despite the manager being pretty dismissive of my claims that the other battery looked like the wrong size.

Anyhow, the bigger group 49 battery fits better, might be a bit big. The bracket holding it down doesn't quite fit. I fabbed up a new one. Anyone else have any experiences with Sears batteries? Which one did people go with?

Anyhow, there's a bit more to the story than just the batteries being a little off, lets just say I won't be visiting the Sears anymore..

Default Yes, I dont know which i went with, but it was more square...

I flipped the bracket around. Been meaning to get the "universal" one or what ever from the dealer but it's clamped in pretty good so it hasnt been top priority. Battery was pricey though..

Default hah, you can say that again

What kind of information you need?

Long story short, went in to get a battery, ended up with two trips to Sears, leaving with a half assembled car, after they had said it was "done", after the manager insisted that they do the installation.

The best part was when I saw the confused tech working on my car, I went out to find out what was confusing him, the first words out of his mouth were "I don't know what I'm doing".

I went to the local advanced auto parts, they had the exact battery I needed.

Default i mean

tell me what happened, how many times you went, and what happened each time

basically just want to know what they did wrong(and what sears it was at, so i can call them)

see... at sears, customer service is a big deal, and if i call them and talk to the manager... being that im not even in your state, it shows way more than just an angry customer calling back, bc now your story is getting out

and while some associates there dont care, the managers do bc they get **** about it

try and give me a detailed couple paragraphs abotu what happened so i can call them

Default in retrospect, yes, I shoul d have

went into this "project" hoping I could use all the factory brackets and so on, have it just fit and be a lazy monkey. if I had know I'd end up fabbing up a bracket, yes, smaller battery better
