Default Paging Phil(Qfrog): Tie rod ends 8e0-419-811 question

Boots are torn, and I am about to get mine replaced. Deciding betw the 811 and the 811-B versions. I guess the difference is that non-B version dont have that rubber section, just solid metal, and they also appear to have the larger ball joint in them.

I searched and you installed these in your car.

The mechanics I spoke to, says that the ride with the non-B version is a much ROUGHER feel, i.e. you feel the jarring and road bumps more than the "B" version.

Can you share your experience on this? I want stronger TREs, more accurate steering but I don't want to sacrifice comfort.

I can't decide which one I'd go for. The shop I am talking to has the Lemfoerder "811-B" versions, which are rated highly on this forum.

Default The difference is pretty minimal.

The 811 is the S4 tie rod end, which is one piece.
The 811B is the A4 which is a 2 piece, with squishy stuff joining the two pieces.

The difference in road feel is noticeable, but not much to worry about. Not much different than changing to some lower profile tires for example.

Agreed. Car actually felt BETTER with the one piece ends.
