Default Paint black bottom trim to match body color or not?

I want to paint the black bottom trim on my Silver A4. I got a unbelievable price of $200.00 (special deal with my a paint guy that services my dealership).

Of course they will sand the textured parts but the only thing that scares me is the soft rubber pieces on the bottom of the doors. I examined the S4 and found that that piece is much stiffer.
All the A4 with painted trim have left that piece alone(black). Doesn't look right.

Has anyone painted the bottom trim? Or. Any paint experts out there? Or any comments?

Thanks for your input.

I'm not an expert in any way, but it should be ok since Audi will use a flex agent on the rubber

Friend of mine did this to his '98 passat(maroon) after having a fender dented. After a second accident(his wife was sideswiped) he had black trim reinstalled. I didn't like the look of the matching trim and and it turns out he didn't either.

You don't like the way the S4(matching trim)looks. I think it looks much better than the A4.

Thanks for your opinion.

Is this in the Bay Area or are there any good shops in the Bay Area that can do it for $200?

Yes, people have done this, with the use of flex agent. I heard that you should wet sand rest too.

Default Chard...

yeah, the paint shop said they would sand down all the pieces especially 'cuz the front and rear pieces are textured.

only problem is...i don't know how much of the front piece to have painted. i'll probably have it done to make the air damm.
