he pointed out overspray and stuff I never
noticed before. Even went as far as saying
it was obvious... I didn't notice until he
pointed it out... now it's really buggin me.
What really sucks is that they referred me to the
body shop... now he tells me they know of a better
one, but it's expensive... I know when I called
for a referral I asked for the "best bodyshop, hands
down"

I'm not sure what you mean... but here's what I did:
car was keyed, so all glass was replaced.. I mean
all the glass was replaced...
all window mouldings were replaced.
the whole car was repainted.
I know for a fact the car's bumpers were removed
and painted separately, so was the moulding on the
car.
The car was sanded down, and primed.. I was
there a few times while they were working on it.
all this cost the insurance company $6,500
Palisades Audi recommended the body shop
The guy who looked at the car today said there
is a better body shop that he recommends..
when I called and asked for a referral, I asked
for the best possible shop around.
Thing is, I didn't notice the overspray until
this guy pointed it out... now it's really
bugging me.

oh..i thought
you just repaint your car.. because for 4k, you could have a color change.. like blue to silver.. including engine bay, door jam, window silt..
i didn't know yours were keyed and you gone thru insurance

The color is more brilliant than it used to be.. more luster..
that's what I meant... if there wasn't overspray,
or if the car was stripped, the way the factory
has it when they paint the car, this bodyshop
paint would probably look better than a factory
painted car... Don't get me wrong, for a mass
produced vehicle, Audi does everything incredibly
well.. but that doesn't mean it can't be done
better..
Or.. I might just think it looks nicer b/c the
paint job on the car right now is new.. and it
used to be 4 years old... who knows?
If the Palisades guy didnt' point out the overspray,
I would still be really happy with the paint job.
