Default parasitic hp loss

Does anyone know the exact number of the parasitic loss through the drivetrain of an A4 quattro.

20 to 25% loss from the crank, depends on the dyno and other variables

even though 40-50 sounds like a lot, i think the important factor is compared to a fwd

Default Mine has 22.3% loss if I believe MTM rated chip spec, and my local dyno is correct

But then again, you can't be sure of either.

22>25% is fair.

Default So are you saying that if I

make 1000 hp out of my Audi I can put 950-960 hp of that to the ground.

The driveline loss cant be a set hp it is a % but that % will drop as you make more power but the only real way to know is to do a motor dyno first then a standard dyno after knowing exactly what hp the motor is making already.

I think its a bit of both. An initial loss, and then an ongoing lessor figure as HP increases.

But what do I know.

Default That is what I think to. you start off at 20-25% loss at stock

but who knows where the curve starts to drop. The only way is to know exactly what the motor is making for hp first. This is how Nascar does their testing to see how low of a driveline loss they can get.
