Default Parts Availability

Hello. I am a parts counter person for a Porsche Audi dealer. My background lies in SAAB. I am a regular contributor on the SAABNET BB. Lately I have been upset with Audi. Parts availability is a big problem for me. Have a very hard time procuring parts for what I consider a wonderful product line. Just wanted to know if any Audi owners out there have had their cars laid up due to parts unavailabilty. I am very upset that I cannot supply parts in a timely manner to customers. Back orders are all too common. Please feel free to e-mail me. I would like to hear your thoughts on the matter.

Default I know a few people with their cars...laid up because of parts procurement issues...

Actually it's one of my fellow club members...his S4 has been in the shop for some time now cause they seem to have trouble getting all of the parts in a timely fashion.

BTW - If you could do me a favor...keep your eyes peeled for a failed instrument cluster, I need one for some experiments. I'd be willing to pay you a reasonable sum for such a piece. It should be from an A4, trip or not I don't care, just a cluster...doesn't have to work.

Regards,

James R.

You really are new in town, aren't you? Haven't your coworkers told you about the VW/Audi fiasco over in the Fatherland with the parts inventory system? It's been in all the auto trades, and has now worked its way into the regular press too.

You are going to see a LOT of unhappy customers, so get used to it.
