My car has about 147 thousand miles on it and in my intake pipes coming out of my valve covers a pastey white gunk is coming out of them and going into my intake. I was told it is becaude of my pistons rings. Not sure why its happening. Luckaly i caught it soon enough before it got in my intake manifold. But what i did was rerouted the PCV to a tube that runs to the back of the car so no gunk goes into my intake and into the combustion chambers. and now flows outside. Was this a smart idea or what should i have done differently. Also before i did this to the car my check engine light came on and said the cars bank 1 and bank 2 is burning lean what may be causing this? And how Do i fix it. the O2 sensors are fine and i have added injection cleaner to the fuel and i use the recommended 92 octane gasoline.

Are you losing coolant as well?
How's the oil look when you check the dipstick?
Having the tubes just going outside will not allow them to work as well since the point of the system is to create a very slight vacuum and *pull* the fumes etc out of the engine.
It sounds very very bad......
