Do it right the first time, or you will regret it.
I sanded the **** out of it, primered, sanded, primered, sanded, primered, sanded, primered, sanded....then sprayed about 5 thin coats of flat black, then i sprayed about 5 thin coats of clear coat.
The last few times i painted this, i didn't spend as much time letting the paint dry and cure and all that...and it ended up chipping after about 4 months. This time it seems to me like it will hold up quite well.
