I figure 1/4" couldn't throw the alignment off too much....we'll see.

Default How about larger changes, like 2 inches or so..

I have heard conflicting theories on this matter, and am curious, but have never looked into it myself. What do you think?

YES... it will affect camber. 1/4" probably not, 2" yes.

Default Toe would also be affected I believe......

....but alignment "tech" is not really a strong area for me.

Default That is what I was thinking. My only question is: How does the Allroad get away with it?

My neanderthal thinking makes me think that if the Allroad can move up and down 3 inches, why can't the A4? Or are the suspensions completely different..

Default My guess...

if toe is affected by ride height on the all-road, they can just optimize it for the lower setting, knowing that these cars spend most, if not all, of their time "on-road". The amount of time (and mileage) one of these cars spends at a higher setting is probably insignificant enough that irregular tire wear will never occur. Odd steering habits might also go unnoticed because of the terrain that requires the higher setting.

Default I thought of that too. Maybe it is set ideally at '1', and by the time it gets up to '4' it doesn't

matter at all, because of lower speeds..

Default They were just under $500, mounted, bal, & delivered by UPS to my door.

They are 3rd party steel wheels,
and Michelin Arctic Alpins.
