ou are probably just hearing the turbo whine, If you want to know what ping is - Just use 87 octane, roll down the window,shut off all noise makers ie stereo,fans etc.Go to the nearest stop sign and punch it to the floor. You will probably hear ping for 5 sec or so until the computer adjusts to the lower octane - sounds kind of like shaking a can with small rocks in it. It's not advisable for extended periods so use high test and avoid it all together.

Hmmm...I did a quick search on HotBot and I turned up a VW Scirroco page and a BMW page that had links pointing to http://www.autothority.com but when I try it I get a server error.
