Default Phil do you think one of those rubber bodyshop removal tools would work?

You know the one you chuck in a drill and spin. The only worry I'd have is he has black paint like me and it would possibly show. With a buff out afterwords , it may work.

Default nope

they tried that on my car and it is not precise enough... I had to work to get the markings from it off.

Default I've seen people use oven cleaner, yes it's true, on door/van lettering...this was before the days

of vinyl lettering that is used 99% of the time now.

Many moons ago... It worked. Took the painted lettering off and left the two part auto paint intact just fine. A little buffing and wax... no trace (except for a little normal "ghost")

I never would have believed it, but I saw it first hand several times.

Default Oven cleaner. Really, see below AND inside--->

No guaranty expressed or implied...... but I have seen it work many times. Try it somewhere in a small spot and do a little at a time. Maybe even mask it off first? It may eat the masking tape though....

I am not pulling your leg, it works, but I would not just jump into it either. It was a long time ago and E Z Off oven cleaner may not just be E Z Off oven cleaner anymore? We're talking like 15-25 years ago here.

Default How much did you drink afterwards to calm your nerves?

That would have driven me nuts.

Default Smokin Q-tips?....didn't I try that in the 70's?....( wanders off mumbling to himself)....

In seriousness , the oven cleaner thing scares me. What effect could that have on your paint and the fumes from using it can't be healthy.
