Default PISTONS FOR 30V

does anyone know about the JE pistons from www.tdlracing.com? I just wanted to know what kind of horsepower/torque gain or any other benefits from the pistons. remember, 30v 98 2.8.
THANKS

Default You can't yield a gain in just replacing pistons persay

Changing CR you can though, but your best bet...supercharge it

Default Yes you can...Longer pistons. :P

= higher CR

Although I doubt such a thing is available for the 30 valve...but one could always go custom....but them like you said, why bother when you can just supercharge it.

Default That's exactly what Rob said...

And TDL can get pistons for the 30V. But it's not at all cost effective unless you are building a race engine.

Default But you can get gains just by changing pistons.

That's what I was emphasizing...Though why anybody would bother to build a 2.8 is beyond me.

Default Re: You can't yield a gain in just replacing pistons persay

well the idea was I was going to get the LLtek intake, brullen cat back exhaust, and a wetteraur chip, then possibly add some pistons because they only cost a grand from tdl racing....my logic was that it could possibly yield some good hp gains and what not from a decently small price, im comparison to spending 5-6k to have buy a supercharger and get it installed...is my logic correct here?
thanks for all the feedback

Default Pistons will cost a LOT to have installed

And raising the CR won't give you all that much of a gain. Stick with the Supercharger.

Default pistons

try the je pistons custom for the 2.95l 30v. but you have to blow up your 2.8 to make it a 2.95 which is not easy and really not to fun for the money. but I will saywhat Silroan said and just go bigger. Bigger is better as the women say....
