Default plan of attack for occasional rough idle

Howdy, please be easy on a newbie.

My 99.5 A4 with the V6 has an occasional rough/stubling idle with these symptoms:
- almost always on cold start
- seems worse when humid/wet/raining
- has thrown a random misfire CEL twice over last month.

My search on this site points to spark plugs, plug wires, ICM, coil packs, maybe coolant temp sensor. BUT almost all of the postings I find are for the 1.8 turbo.
My question is, does the V6 have the same ICM issues as the 4 cyl? Would replacing plug wires be a reasonable next step? The problem is
intermittent enough that looking for spark jumps from the plug wires in the dark might be iffy. Also, I've not seen any of the other postings mention humidity as a factor. Would that suggest something else?
thanks
Jon

Your V6 does not have the ICM. Have you tried cleaning the throttle body?

When is the last time you changed your plugs? Also, like Nate said, clean the TB.

If the TB needs cleaning, would it be reasonable to assume the PCV system is clogged too?

Plugs just changed, seemed to make a minor improvement, will clean TB next, thanks.

Default I'd say your plug wires are arcing. Especially when you say it happens...

...when it

" seems worse when humid/wet/raining".
