Default Re: I'd say your plug wires are arcing. Especially when you say it happens...

had the same problem a couple months ago as what you are describing and it was plug wires.
You can kind of "force" the problem to happen and check for arcing if you mist the wires and coil packs LIGHTLY with a spray bottle, then check under the hood in a dark garage. You should be able to see them arc if that's indeed what's wrong.

Default next question: source? Bosch 09485?

...dealer says they are sold separately at $50.84 EACH before AudiQuattroClub discount.
Bosch sets are $99-%159ish depending on vendor.
I don't see site sponsors or 'favorite vendors' that have plug wires.
