please help! is the rear rotor supposed to come off after you take the calipers off? i been banging

on it and just want to know is there any other bolts im supposed to take off before i can remove the rotor

If you use a hammer on the inside of the rotor, give it a whack every 3-5". Rotate, whack. Rotate, whack. Rotate, whack.

What's not shown in the pic below is the caliper carrier. Need to remove that (or perhaps you already did?). Once you've done that, rust is the only thing holding the rotor in place. Take a hammer, and hit the back of the rotor, spin the rotor 180 degrees, and hit some more. Repeat, and eventually the rotor will start to ease it's way off the hub (tight fit).

On the back side of the caliper carrier that need to come out. I assumed that you had disposed of them already.
Unscrew them and then bang away.

If Quattro then follow as RKA and golfishh suggest, remove the carrier, THEN remove the rotor.
If you're FWD then you must remove the center axle nut which is under the dust cap. It's a MUCH more involved process.
