There has been some supply demand issues but some guys on Vortex and Fortitude have gotten their hands on them.

If he did, that would be great. I've had no success. Also if he ships these with a base map that has decent cold start settings that would be nice too (damn near impossible to tune from scratch)

if someone removed everything inside the stock ECU case, and threw a Megasquirt in there. 100% full control over everything, 100% open source. Although, this would certainly not be for everyone.

It is open just like Megasquirt, it even uses the same tuning program (MegaTune) this guy just happens to do all the leg work to make it plug and play with our cars. He also supports it, which is where I'd assume most of his cost comes from! Good luck getting support on MegaSquirt. (I've been running it for nearly 2 years on my car.)
You can get a basic VEMS for like $600 if you wanted to do everything yourself as far as wiring and configuration.
