Plummenting A4 value: results so far for my "for sale" A4.
So when I recently posted that I would be selling my 2000 A4 quattro tip with 109k most folks told me to ask $6k. I want it gone, so I listed it for $5k. Cheap, right? Well the car has been listed on AW, Audifans and craiglist for week. Results:
The only hits have been from craiglist.
I've gotten three emails total.
One buyer was supposed to show Saturday but blew me off.
I'm really surprised. I thought a quattro in the Fall would be gone in a heartbeat at $5k. Must be the tip trans. Anyhoo, hang on to your A4's because they aren't worth diddly on the market. :-(

I am looking for your vehicle for my son and am seeing lots of them in the $4000 range. I am heading to the auction on Tuesday. If used car dealers are selling them for $4000 I can get them at auction for $2500-$3000.
I have a 2000 1.8tq (manual) with 153,000 miles and am keeping it because I can't find anything as nice for the money as a commuter vehicle.

Do him a favor and buy him a stick. Mine has a brand new timing belt (full service) so...
...factor that in over your auction cars.
Nice to have an "in" at the auction.

Silver/platnum. Just replaced the torn driver's seat bottom with a brand new one.
The funny thing is that the car could be a cherry or a POS, no buyer has yet bothered to even come look at the car.

Hmm.....well 2 options here
1st is bring it down to the $4000 range and kill it.(i mean sell it)
Have you tried the: park the car with a for sale sigh near/around the corner from the local high school???
2. Do you have room/property/garage?
stick in the back yard and start selling parts.
Remove cyl heads, sell short block,
Altenator, power steering pump/rack...air box.
Trans.....rear dif, rear sub-frame, axle shafts.....
Front fenders(people have caught the rs-4 back these days) hood, trunk.
Plus interior panels, seats etc....window motors glass...wiring harnesses...etc.
That will bring ya more than $5000 in a slow way, if you don't mine.
