Default Well, what year is your car? 2001 has a different cover. 06A-109-108-K is the

current number. They change part numbers sometimes, so the number on the part is not always correct.

If your VIN range is F 8D-1-042385 and on, 108-C is the other number.

That's right. So the 058 number is the only cover for your engine.

Default This is the two covers side by side, the right one is the 058#, how this possible???

The 058 number will NOT fit, I tried to make it work all day yesterday. The only way it would fit is if I cut out a piece on the bottom right side (like the old one) in order to clear what looks to be an alternator bracket... I'm not upset, I'm just wondering how this is possible the engine does say ATW and on the door panel it says the car was made 11/99. My question is how does the 058 part# not work for my car?????

Default Ok, I did some research on this last night and came up with this new number: 06B-109-108-F

It's weird, because the ONLY car that uses it is the 2003 Cabrio. The part drawing even looks your old one.

I have no explanation for this weirdness, but that's what I've found. Maybe someone replaced it in the past (both upper and lower covers) and got the wrong parts. I don't know.

Default You have an ATW. At the top center of the engine right by the alternator in plain sight

is your engine code. I can kind of even read it in your picture. It's right next to the coolant line running in front of your timing belt. It's stamped on the engine lift support.

Don't let this cover non-sense screw with you. I have a feeling someone else messed up the engine covers.
