Default S03s. great dry grip, best wet tire for me so far. over drove them on the track :-|

I would get them again, but I'd like to try something else just to compare. (Doesn't TireRack or some tire manufacturers let you try tires for 30 days?)

I'm leaning towards the Goodyear F1-DS3 or Toyo T1S. I'd like to have a good tire to run on the track just in case it rains and the T1Ss have a good rep for that, but are a bit noisy after 5-7k miles from what I've read here.

Default I've been on them for about two weeks now.

a lot more noise than I expected & I don't see how these things are going to be better in the rain than the OEM SP8000's. Maybe for the first 10K but after that I think these tires are going to be on ice in the rain. they do grip like hell & they are probably the most predictable tire I've ever had but it's a bit early to say for sure.

Default ooops

Well, I was mainly after comfort and reduced tramlining (as compared to S-03s), performance being further down the priorities list. I guess I'll find out soon enough.

Default I think the price is right

I just think I went too far. I didn't need that much tire but I liked the SP8000's overall and these are supposed to be as good or better in every respect. They do corner very nice. Slight adjustments mid corner are very easy and predictable. I'll just have to see long term how they are. I run snows in the winter so depending on the mileage this may well be the last set of tires I put on this car.

Default Re: Getting some new 712's today.

Running Kumho 712's here. Tough to beat the bang for the buck.

score. T1S are probably next for me then. I don't care about the noise.

Default What size do you run?

I currently run 225/40 for my 712s on 18x8". Do you run a wider tire, like 235/40 on 18x8"?

Default I don't think they're noisy. Just softer sidewalls compared to S-03s.

BTW, what do you mean by "over drove them on the track"? Heated up to the point where irreversible rubber melts occured?
