Default Lemme fix that for you...

Hi guys. Yesterday while driving my car the MIL illuminated. The vehicle seemed to still be running well, I checked my owners manual, which indicated it was acceptable to continue driving as long as it was not flashing.

I have since discovered the code is PO171, which I believe indicates system lean on bank one.

As I am waiting for my VAG-COM from Ross-Tech that I ordered and I am also currently searching the forum, can anyone point me in the correct direction to address this code?

I assure you I have no ricer equipment such as a MBC, HAI or BOV on my car.

Thanks in advance for your help.

Awesome post. Maybe a TIP leak or clogged fuel filter?

Default i had the same code------->more

removed the MAF sensor. (located inside air box). cleaned the sensors with carb cleaner, let it air dry (very important, do not use compressed air as the sensors are fibers, and can be damaged by compressed air.). reinstalled and CEL never came back.

P.S. code points towards 02 sensor, but i changed mine and it didn't fix the problem. the above mentioned did.

I am pissed. Cost me about $400 in parts to fix that thing.
