Default Porsche 964 Calipers

I am looking at a set of front and rear calipers off a 92 Porsche 964 for about $250. Any thoughts on machining a bracket and using the fronts at least on a 99 A4Q 1.8?

I don't have the specs on these, but maybe worth the gamble?

These are not rebuilt, so they would need some TLC, but maybe a cheaper BBK?

Thanks in advance for the input

The biggest problem above all else is getting the carrier brackets for these calipers. Machining them is iffy at best unless you can get the specs for it plus the right kind of metal to make them from. You should check the archives on the 80/90/CQ forum here. There are tons of info there from years back or hit up the guys on QuattroWorld in the 80/90/CQ forum there. They know their stuff & are the ones who did these mods with their eyes closed.

Default Brackets

Thanks for the info, I did search around, but limited it to the B5 forums.

You might just consider doing the A8 rotor upgrade (with tt caliper brackets)

Default A8

I definetly looked at that option, but it's not as much fun without some sort of challenge. Seriously though, that is probably what I'll end up with as this is only my DD. I have just read to many times that people go that route and later go bigger.

We shall see. Probably a spring time project anyway.

I have the A8 front (312) and A6 rear(255x10mm)upgrades w/ PBR ceramic pads. It is a good well balanced and inexpensive upgrade. Uses stock calipers.

Front
StopTech 312 cross-drilled rotors 128.33107L & 128.33107R
TT caliper brackets 8N0-615-125

Rear
StopTech 255 cross-drilled rotors 128.33064L & 128.33064R
A4 B6 3.0L rear caliper carriers 8E0-615-425-G

Rotors from Achtuning, pads from PureMS, and rear carriers from Audi dealer (need for correct units).
