If its not the coilpacks or plugs then its gotta be the ignition control module

Default I had same problem, it was Ignition Control Module, here is test method

My ignition control module died a few weeks ago. Evidentaly this is a relatively common problem. This is the Bosch part atop teh airbox. you can remove it by unscrewing the two screws, pulling the two retainer clips off, and finally disconnecting the 4 & 5 pin couplers. Check it by touching a multimeter across the terminals. 5 on the one side 4 on the other. On the 5 pin coupler the center is the ground. Put a multimeter on resistance (Ohms) and check the resistance across the terminals (4 pin to 5 pin). Put the probes on (1-1, 2-2, 3-4, and 4-5). Then try them on (1-3, 2-3, 3-3, 4-3). If one cylinder is misfiring it will show zero resistance (my cyl 2 showed this). It will show zero resistance in the through circuit and the ground circuit if its bad. If its ok it will be like 138 ohms or somthing. All teh OK cylinders will read the same.

If its bad here is teh cheapest place to buy that module:
http://www.importeccatalog.com/

$228 + shipping.

I called Midwestern Audi here in columbus, they quoted me $472.50 for the same part. Thats why they call it a stealership ;-)

Part takes less than a minute to intall.

Hope that helps!
