is it possible to recode a 2001 "ch" ecu from auto to manual? anybody have the specific instructions

Default Basically you just recode the value on the engine control..

Read your current ECU (manual) and you'll get a code i dont remember like 16205 (thats not it i just guessed a # out of the air.)

Plug the new ecu in, you'll see its different. Recode it back. Voila.

Running a TIP ECU in a Manual motor will probably only throw a code regarding the missing ecu, it will probably still work with CEL, btw.

don't run a Manual ECU in a TIP or you'll blow up the tiptronic in no time.
