Default The Tip and Manual codes can be changed using a VAG Tool.

I have done this already when a friend wanted to borrow my extra ECU when he took his car in for service. Just changed the soft code and it worked fine. I have heard the M and CH are interchangeable. I will be trying this out with my bro's car. He has a 2001 with the M ECU and I will let him try my CH X-chipped ECU in his car. From what I have heard, it should work with no problems.

Default The CH box is just an updated M box. It just has different software in it.

It is not like the car that has the CH box is any different then the car with the M box, since both of them are still A4's and both are 2001's.

I thought one was for non-ESP and the other was for either, so if you don't have ESP then both Okay?

I have an M ecu in my tiptronic and have found a used CH to replace my malfunctioning unit. Will it work?
