Power Steering Fluid

Hey Guys,
Just bleed my brakes this weekend, fluid was really nasty. Got me thinking about the other fluids. I've changed everything except the power steering fluid.
Not having any trouble, but at 172,000miles, I'm pretty sure the P/S fluids lifetime rating is up. There is a nice write up for the A8 with notes for the A6 that everyone seems to use.
I priced the project at the Audi dealer $210 labor plus fluid (~2qts).
To mail order the fluid I'd be about $50.
Stopped in the VW dealer to see if they had any fluid in stock. They have a flush service special for $109.95 using the VW spec fluid.
Any reason that I wouldn't want to do the flush service at the VW dealer with their machine other than I could DIY a little cheaper?

Yeah it's crazy how much the stealership will charge. My rack blew after 12 years with 99k miles. . .the repair guy said the dealer wanted $50 a liter of fluid. I told him I can get it online for $20 - (Pentosin 11s).
Based upon these three links below- looks like you can go either way .it looks like the VW PSF is the same as Audi's.
However I'd do it myself and save the money. If you can change your oil you can change your PSF.

Are you sure you can't do the job for a $19 liter of CHF-11 (Blauparts)? The system doesn't hold all that much fluid, and is pretty easy to change. Get the front wheels off the ground so you can spin the steering wheel lock to lock, which purges the old fluid into the reservoir, where it drains out of the disconnected pump supply line. After you clean the reservoir, hook the hose up, fill with fresh fluid, and spin the wheel again to purge out air. By the way, don't have the engine running during the fluid change. There is also a procedure on Blauparts.com
