Power wash engine bay....any tips or advice, or a write up on how to do it properly and safly?

I had my A4 detailed recently by Phil & his crew at Detailers Domain & they used a ......
...pressure washer and it worked just fine.
They used the lowest pressure setting and getly misted the engine compartment to rinse it off after hitting it with some P21S engine cleaner and a boar hair brush.
