Default Power Window Issues (Motor and Pulley?)

Hey Everyone,

So I was cruising back home last night with the windows down, and when I arrived home...my rear power window refused to roll up.

The window would roll up for a second or two, and then just end up rolling back down. Then after a bit, the window didn't move at all, and I couldn't hear the window motor running.

Had a friend (thanks Matt!) help me take apart the door so I could at least have my window back in the normal fully rolled up position, and found this:

Not sure where this wheel/pulley came from any ideas? It also appears that my power window motor is dead...unplugging it from the door, but leaving the cable plugged in, and messing with the window switch from driver's side, did nothing to the motor. =(

Can anyone confirm that my window motor is dead, and hopefully knows where I can score a cheap/used one? Thanks!

Window regulator is shot. Motor and regulator are sold separately and cost around $300.

Default Regular was fine and in-tact

motor is what died, I'm guessing from whatever the white pulley/wheel thingy is.

Default The plastic piece comes from the bottom of the window assembly frame.

And they are not sold individually.
Your best bet is to contact someone who is parting out an audi and try and buy it.

It's a pulley for the cables of the regulator.

Shown here just underneath the yellow circle.
You need a new regulator.

Default Thanks Nate!

I'm just trying to wrap my mind around how a broken regulator kills my motor though...any ideas?
