Does this make any sense? The diagnostic guy tells me to replace it. I tend to do so. Does any Bosch 4 wired O2 sensor do? The guy told me to buy "the one for turbo engines", saying those can handle the heat for longer.
Other question: is pulling the ECU's fuse from the fuse box enough instead of disconnecting the battery when i want a TBB alignment? (of course all this without ignition)
Does anybody know the OEM part # for the O2 sensor?
Is there a point to replace the second O2 sensor?
(And again sorry about my last week's attitude to those whom i offended)

the best way to know if you need to replace the sensors
is if codes regarding the sensors come up. As for the front sensor, log the voltage over a wide open throttle run. If you are in the high .8x volt range, you are good. I was getting mid .7x volts when my front started throwing codes on me. The rear sensor should affect performance, I wouldn't spend the money to replace it unless you have a code. I don't know what values to look for in the rear sensor sorry.
As for replacements, everyone has a different story with trying to save money over the expensive OEM sensors. It all depends on the year and engine of the car. I know for the 2000 1.8T's we can use the VW $20 sensor as oppposed to the Audi $180 sensor for the front with no connector change or issues. Tell us the year of your car and engine. I assume it's a 1.8T since you mentioned turbo in the tech's diagnosis. When the guy said the one for the turbo engines referring to the 02 sensor, did he mean the OEM one, or a generic bosch one that was meant for turbo cars? It's an easy replacement, so it's always worth a little time if you can save money over OEM. Then again, getting it done fast and right is nice too.

It is a '97 AEB engine. The guy meant generic Bosch for turbo cars. If i can get it cheap...
i will replace it as there are probably 130k miles on it, it is time. It served well.

yeah with that mileage it is likely time for a new one
I think digi@lex and or possible LaserK04 had luck with one of the generic ones. It might be the same as the one ECS sells, but I'm not sure about that. Maybe someone with an AEB can chime in here.
