Default Pressure Test Oddity

I rigged up the pressure test from the FAQ with the air compressor and the pipe ends, pressurized the system to about 10 psi and started listening for leaks. I didn't find any leaks, but I did hear something which I found strange.

The best way I can describe it is water dripping from a faucet into a increasingly smaller and smaller bathtub of water. It started as a lower pitched dripping sound, then over the course of about a minute, it became higher and higher pitched until it turned into a ticking noise and stopped.

I recorded it a few times and have the sound files but don't know of anywhere to post them. It may be something normal, but I have never heard anything like it.

Any thoughts??
