Default problem with car starting

went out to start my car today, and it didnt start. i noticed that all the lights on the guages didnt come on, but instead it was very dark. then i let the key sit in the on position for a second and the lights came on. and the car started just fine.

now every time i start the car, i have to put the key in for a second, before i start it, otherwise it wont turn over....

ideas?

Default I am having this problem with my car now too.

First time was at streets of willow on saturday. Have not had the issue come up since. The guys from drs said that its most likely just a single part in the switch which is cheap to replace.

Default I had this problem in my Honda and...

Don't know if this will help at all but the same thing happened to my Prelude and it was the Ignition Control Module.

Default you're right, it's not doing it anymore either. it wasnt a problem, more of an annoyance

if i turned the key too fast, it was like the battery didnt turn on yet or something.

Default Its the contact inside the cylinder. When you turn it and this happens its like there is no

resistance as you turn it and it goes straight to the starter position.
