You need to go to your local dealer or maybe NAPA and get G12

Default G12 only. No "universals", no dexcool, just G12. Unless you're doing a complete flush

Then you can use the green regular stuff, like I am right now.

Default Really I did not know that if you do a complete flush then its fine. Ithought it had to do something

with the internal metallurgy, not only the two coolant mixup gunk.

Default Not really. Especially if you have a water pump with a metal impeller (like I)

If you have a plastic one, then you need to stick with G12.

Search for the conversation between me and Audi Junkie on this. Lots to learn from him.

Default funny lil' story...

back in the day, the heater core on my jetta went (way out of warranty). I brought it to an independant euro mechanic who diagnosed it and we set up an appt.

Instead of raping me for the job, he called the next day, turned down the work, and informed me that there was a recall on it and that any VW dealership would fix it for free.

that is how bad the job is, the guy totally did not want to do it.
