Proper tire inflation...
Hey guys,
I am putting on a set of aftermarket wheels on Monday. My orginal tire size is 205/55-16 and the car calls for 32psi of pressure. I am upgrading to 235/45-17 ContiExtremeContacts. What should I inflate my new tires to?
Thanks in Advance,
Mark B

PSI should be same or close to 225/45/17 (see sticker below). Although my figures look higher than yours - 36PSI for 205/55/16:

haha...
yeah, it's like
"The three of you wait outside, while I bust out my air pump and add a few PSI here and there!"
I think it's just general recommendation. If more often than not you're finding yourself carrying larger loads, you should just keep more air in your tires.
Besides, it can be tweaked +/- a few PSI for handling or comfort. Gotta experiment I guess.
