Props to AoA Customer Relations

I know there's been many people who've had seat heater problems, and had no luck with AoA when looking for out-of-warranty coverage, but my experience was different.
A couple of months ago my drivers side seat heater shorted and burned a hole in the seat cushion leatherette (almost burned me through my jeans also!!).
Being a 2001 (50k miles), it's out of warranty, but I contacted AoA Customer Relations to see whether they would help in repairing this.
I got a good response from AoA, they asked me to get it checked out at my local dealer (Stevens Creek Audi, San Jose, CA), and if it was found to be a manufacturing fault then AoA would cover the cost of repair/replacement.
Dealer determined it was a manufacturing fault (thanks to them also), parts were ordered, and I had the seat cushion and heater element replaced, all under AoA warranty. Can't fault the AoA and Dealer service I received on this.
Just goes to show you, it's always worth asking (without being demanding, though)!
