Default PSA on lower door trim (covers).......

On the continued(or endless) quest towards beautification(or restoration) of the A4, the rest of my parts order(rest of door trim pieces, etc.) came in. Installed new "A4" badge on the trunk as the old just was looking tired.
For those out there who see the front corners of your door trim starting to peel away, you might consider replacing them. I was minorly shocked to see how badly they were rusting(underneath, inside). Had they been left on the car, I'm sure it would have crept through to the door bottoms in due time. Most of the clips had completely collapsed, in one case the factory used the wrong one(8D0-853-909-C). This was just allowing the dirt, water, and what ever else they are putting on the roads today to enter. Figured the replacement was cheap insurance towards keeping the body integrity intact, future/current value of the car, and a better seal for noise(yes, ocd).
Thought some out there might get some benefit from this. Sorry, the Nikon is out of order currently, so no pics yet.
Regards

Default parts used...

These were for a Sedan, I believe door trim pieces for the avant might be different in certain cases.
1)8D0-853-959-B-01C , driver's door trim(cover)
2)8D0-853-969-B-01C , left rear trim(cover)
3)8D0-853-960-B-01C , passenger front trim
4)8D0-853-970-B-01C , right rear trim (cover)
5)8D0-853-909-B , clip(white), qty. 26
6)8D5-853-741-2ZZ , name plate "A"
7)8D5-853-741-A-2ZZ, name plate "4"

Added note on installation, I just wiped the new clip with bit of warm soapy water(after installed on the door) and the new trim slides right on.
Regards

Default a response....

For the parts listed in the post above was just over $160. As an added note, I've had a minor concern that trim pieces like this will go out of stock with Audi as I found with our 87 4000 quattro which promoted the purchase to some degree.

Thanks for the parts list. Were you able to reuse the screw on each piece or did you get new ones?

Yes, had to re-use the old ones by default. Audi has the screws back ordered. As long as nobody attacks them like a gorilla, they walk right out with relative ease.

Default Thanks. I'll doing mine this spring along with the rest of the stuff on my to-do list.

Which now includes my 2nd wheel bearing. I think it is the front this time.
