I had an AEM dry flow cone + heatshield + snorkel. However the stock airbox definetly gets more cold air, since it's completely sealed off from the engine bay. Pull up top with more timing is very noticeable.

I thought it looked awfully small, it would not flow enough for my setup but I didnt think it would flow enough for 300hp either? I have a 97 snd the piece I am thinking about was black plastic and the width of the intake piece was less than an inch thick at the mouth. I am too lazy to do the math for you, but your mod may cost you HP if it is like the piece on mine. You may be fine and I may be nuts, but I dont thinkl the stock "snorkle" will flow enough for your application. Conservatively that piece would have to flow over ~400cfm to make the hpclaims of 320 _right_?
