Re: pwr steering fluid leak
You might check the seals on the steering rack. When they go, they leak into the boots. If you pull one of the boots back, and a river of dirty green fluid pours out, its time for a new rack.

I'd say to check all p/s lines...
jack the car up and check the lines going into the rack. Access is through the driver's side wheel well:

Also, check the boots on your rack... if they'er coated in oil, then your rack is shot.
This past june I had both a dead p/s line and a dead p/s rack. I've replaced all but one hose on my p/s system by now, so I'm hoping I"ll be good for a while

Re: pwr steering fluid leak
i was losing fluid very slowly, and had no idea where is was leaking from. the other day while working on my car, my friend pointed out that the ps fluid resevoir had a hair line crack toward the top in the back, barely visible unless you shine a flashlight on it. the whole thing felt very brittle.

Make them use a factory rebuild or a new audi rack...
Alot of after market units are just resealed and painted when its the gears that bind up and go bad causing the seals to go. The factory rebuilt units they replace the gears and do the job right. Hopefully, this will save you the ag we went through on our previous A4.
Also make sure they flush the system out. If there are any metal flakes in the system it can cause a pre-mature failure of the rack seals again.
