If you buy an audi you might as well opt for quattro.....it's like icecream WITH the sprinkles.

You will thank yourself for spending that $1750. I'm no racer, either, but glad I got it.

Default Not unless you want drive up a hill in the snow... Quattro is marketing hype otherwise!

It only helps with forward traction on snow/ice... doesn't help with lateral traction or stopping per C&D article (see archives)...

Default Quattro worths every pennies.....

One of Audi's most famous technology is to use the AWD system. Audi's Quattro system is simply second-to-none in the automotive world, neither Mercedes 4Matic and Subaru's AWD system can match Quattro's sophiscation, refinement and reliability.
Audi's Quattro banned from touring car series because of "Unfair Advantage", you should know how exceptional Audi's AWD system is.
Although FrontTrek handles spectacularly for a front driver, nothing can match the feel and forgiveness of the Quattro AWD.

Default C&D says FWD is safer-> better lateral acceleration and stopping distance...(link)

Default I agree...

"Get it if you live in an area with bad weather, like to drive fast in the rain. Or if you feel having the best grip possible from standing starts and hard turns makes up for the negatives."

This describes me perfectly, I got Quattro and I love it...I CAN tell a difference...not just in the snow and rain but hard cornering...which is every corner =)
