Default Quattro operation question...

Has anybody else noticed any noise or sensation coming from the wheel they know is the one slipping? On my way to work this morning I came upon a right hand curve with a decent amount of water flowing down the camber at the apex of the turn. At the exact moment I crossed the water I felt a momentary slippage from the inside right wheel and then Quattro did it's usual magic of redirecting power to the other wheels, and I didn't ever lose my line. I did though momentarily feel a light "thunk" from the inside front wheel at the moment it would have been slipping. I don't think I hit a rock or pothole because the thunk felt like it came only through the driveline, not the suspension. Is this the normal feeling that Quattro gives when transfering torque? I haven't had that many times where Quattro has redirected most of the torque away from just one wheel, and am just curious. Otherwise as far as functionality goes, I'll never not own an AWD car again.

Default Maybe Quattro / maybe a road irregularity / maybe just the tire slipping and catching

The torsen differential transfers torque between the front and rear axles. Power is transfered left to right by the edl system, which uses the abs system to apply the brakes to the wheel(s) which lose traction. So if your inside wheel was losing / lost traction then the brake may have been applied on that wheel...which would probably be a quick single (as opposed to pulsing) abs sound.
Regards,
Rodney

Default I was going under 40mph, so you're right it could be the EDL.

And as Rodney said, it did feel like one quick ABS "pulse" now that I think about it. I was going about 35 as I was on a curvey mountain road at the time.
