Got the infamous solid check engine light on my 99.5 A4. Been through about three starts but it hasn't cleared. Any reason to try swapping out the ECU just yet or should I wait and see if the light clears itself?

I checked the archives and I know this has something to do with the OBDII emissions system. I did get a rough start and rough idling after my last refueling which was just 20 miles ago. I noticed the check engine light this morning on the way to work. I was going to drive it for a few days to see if the problem clears up. No VAG tool to check it, so I'll be heading to the dealer if the light doesn't clear itself.<p><a href="http://registry.audiworld.com/audi/registry/details.asp?car=2696">

I had the same rought start thing you describe once. I did not mess around with ECU swapping and the light cleared itself.

I was surprised to find that the clamps holding the S shaped hose to the intercooler were loose - loose enough to get some tightening of the clamp when I adjusted them.
