Question about Euro Projectors...just got off the phone with PG Performance...
I have a 2001 A4 on the way...I wanna start doing stuff to it as soon as it gets here...one of my favorite mods is the Euro Headlamps.
My current 1999 A4 has the Valeo One Piece Euro Projectors and I decided I want the same for my 2001 A4...but my 2001 has Xenon headlamps. According the the guy at PG it's not the same housing as the Halogen Projector and that the optics despite looking very similar are in fact different...he said you can tell by looking at the reflector it has a differnt shape or something...we're not talking about the lens here...but the reflector.
Anyhow reason I ask this is because when I put my Halogen Euro's in my 99 I even saw the word Xenon on them...and there was what looked like a place for the igniter / transformer pack on the underside. Normally I wouldn't care but as you know PG Performance has THE BEST price on the Euro Projectors only 300 USD for the pair...that's a steal, but the Euro Xenon Projector housings (empty) are 480 USD for the pair...that's 60% more. I'm more than willing to pay more to do something right...but if there really is no difference then I'd rather not waste my hard earned money.
I figure this will really round out the Euro Look with my RS4 grille and Euro Projectors...wow I can hardly wait for my Quattro to show up
TIA,
James R.

there is a difference!
I had the problem the other way... But yes the xenon enclosures are different and do cost more. The light diffusion is completly different between the two enclosures. The US Audi units new are $650.

All this talk about Euro lamps has me curious. Could someone explain to me what they are?
Are these high-intensity lamps? Thanks in advance.<p>'00 1.8TQSTip
