I know it is here somewhere but I can't find it. I'm replacing the front pads on my 01 A4 Quattro and there's a wire attached to the inside pad. What is it, do I need it, and can I get another one? I'm running out of daylight...dammit

at the old pads and connect both wires together to keep a closed loop to keep the brake light off. if the new pads have the same wire then unplug by twisting and pulling up on the "latch" and go from there

I'm putting these pads on now because my wife didn't tell me how bad they were and I need to change them now so she has wheels. In a week or two, I'll put better pads on and rotors at the same time. Thanks again...
