Default A question about headlight washer jets...

They don't seem to work at all. Should I be able to gently pull them out, and if I can not does that mean they are ceased or broken? Thanks.

Default iirc ... think they only work with the headlights on

If your headlights are then I don't know.

they are pushed by a second squirt pump, and iirc, they are spring return so should be able to pull

Default Hehe, I remember when I first got my car I was demonstrating them to a friend

She stood outside the car, and I was demonstrating how the headlight washers work, and my friend pointed out that they didn't work!

Other than feeling foolish in front of my friend, I learned that I had to get my washers fixed. Actually what had happened was that the washer pump cracked and had to be replaced. So it wasn't generating enough pressure to lift the headlight washers.

Default yes, you can pry them up.

also, as the others said, you have to have your headlights on for them to work. And, you can hold it for a split second and they won't fire. If you hold the stalk back a little longer both the shield and light jets fire.
