Question about the new A4's weight
I've read the word "lighter" about 100 times in the official press release, but after looking at the technical data I fail to see what it applies to.
For example, the 1.8TQ is listed at around 1450kg which is approx. 3200lbs - the same as the current car! Where is the weight saving?

Consider that the new A4 is larger. Same weight implies lighter construction, plus ...
lighter suspension components translate into less unsprung weight meaning more refined ride for given level of handling.

Good points - still a little dissapointed though...
I guess I was expecting some more serious weight reduction (maybe less than 3000lbs). Given that the engine output stays the same (1.8T), there can be no performance improvements at all.
Oh well...
