Is there a way to reset the ECU with a VAG? I just changed my fueling setup (went from 3 bar to 4 bar FPR to curb detonation)and want my ECU to adapt. It is already starting to pull fuel as shown by the long term fuel trim. Is it necesary to reset the ECU to get it to fully adapt? And is there a way to do it besides disconecting the battery?

let it go for 30 seconds and then start her up.
otherwise, with a VAG, log block... 060 with the key turned to on (but engine not started) then switch to basic settings. You'll see "ADP RUN" show up, the throttle body will start beeping and clicking and adjusting. Leave it for about a minute, then exit the module and start the car. All set.

I have done the TBA with the VAG many times and it doesn't seem to chagne the fueling learning values at all, just the throttle angle at WOT.

i am running a custom GIAC program that is meant to be run with a FMIC I beleive. The timing is quite advanced, and its possible the knock sensors have been modified as well to keep the ECU from pulling timing. I am running Bosch red top 310cc injectors with 3 bar and now back to stock 4 bar. Seems to be running well now with 4 bar.

the learning values will "go away". After that, you should be able to see what is really happening. If you are continuing to run rich, there is most likely a problem with the integration of the 4-bar FPR.
I thought 4-bar FPR was stock, and 5-bar FPR was for K04 setups??

Your are correct, 4 bar is stock and 5 bar is for use with an off the shelf AWE K04 kit and the stock injectors. However, the chip I have is tuned for use with larger injectors instead of a higher pressure FPR. So I have been trying a few combos to get it to run right.
With 310cc injectors at 3 bar, the 02 readings peaked at a little above .086. Then, as the car adapted and pulled fuel the whole 02 v curve lowered a tad. This did not change when I did a TBA or cleared codes. So I assumed that the fuel learning values were seperate from the TBA, and the process of clearing codes. However, I could be wrong. I will look into it.

I'll see how this works, but I have been considering buying a different chip. If not the standard one, then maybe the one that guy Greg (LaserK04) was running at the AWE dyno day.

they're what the sensors are reporting to the system. To look at your learning values, I would think you'd need to look at injector timing, wouldn't you?
Or is that where you are? I thought o2 sensor readings were like 030, 032, etc., and that injection timing was... somewhere else. =P
