I want to get this mod on my 2001 audi a4, but do I need both..couldnt I just do the one on the driver side..or do I need both to keep nice cool air coming in. Also..do these install in pretty easy..or does it require some "surgery" Thanks for your help.
Also can I get em cheaper than 30 bones at clairs?

30 is about right, the drivers is to cool the intercooler and is most common. The drivers side is supposed to get some cool air to flow through and cool the turbo or get more cool air to flow for an intake.

Instead of wasting the time and money (not that it's alot of money) do the following...
(from Harvey Huffman)
Tools needed:
Hot Knife (optional)
Heat Gun
Utility Knife
Screw Driver (flat)
Marker
Mark a series of lines on your stock wheel well liner, similar to that of the S4 liner.
Lightly heat the liner using the heat gun on a low setting.
Using a Hot knife, or if you don't have one available use a utility knife. Slice through your marks.
After all marks have been sliced, take the heat gun and heat up the liner till it is mallable.
Then use the ScrewDriver to make louvers(sp) by gently shaping the plastic.
This will save a little bit of $$ and actually a ton of time.
The S4 liner does not have a good fit on the A4, and to make it look right you will spend as much time trimming it. This is free, works every bit as well, has the proper fit, as well as giving you a feeling of accomplishment

And it went very well. In my opinion, it went much easier than the tech article had stated. There is about a quarter inch extension of the liner on the bottom edge but I plan to use a heat gun and fold it over. Otherwise it bolted up just fine.
Clairparts would probably be the best value. BTW I just installed the drivers side, couldn't hurt to install the passenger side as well. ; )
