I remember trying to write javascript before I had a real C++ backround and it was awful. I must say now it is a peice of cake.. only problems being the things that it can't do, and of course cross-browser issues.

Dreamweaver has an "ALT" box in the Properties box at the bottom of the desktop

Just open the Properties Inspector, click on the image you want to add the ALT text to, and then enter it into the appropriate place within the Properties Inspector.

I am seriously considering a class or 2 in C++, many people have told me what you just said..after C++, anything else is more "learnable"
