Default question on changing rotors...

does the hub (center piece for the bolt/threaded studs) needs to be remove for rotor replacement?

I have one stud stuck in one hub, not sure if i can take the hub off without removing the stud?

probably doing it this weekend so pls let me know, just in case i have to order a new hub or something.
TIA

Default I'm a bit confused, but I'll answer

The terms you are using are confusing me. By hub do you mean the caliper?

Well, anyway, once you remove the caliper, the rotor will be free to fall off unless it is stuck to the hub via rust. If the caliper is off and the rotor is not, then a hammer to the backside should make it drop off. The (front) caliper is held on by two 17mm bolts (same size head as the lug bolts that hold the wheel on).

Be advised, a hammer is a sort of divining rod. It is very good at locating expensive parts!

Default yes...actually, I believe the 2 17mm bolts hold the rotors on...there are some hex bolts that

hold the calipers on..they have black caps covering them.

Default Yes,.....

the hub is not connected to the rotor, except maybe by rust.

Default Actually, once you remove the caliper AND caliper bracket..

the rotor will be free. The front caliper is held on by two 7mm allen bolts, and the bracket is held on by two 17mm bolts. I had to give the face of the rotor a couple of good whacks to break it free from the hub.

The rear is the same, sort of. The caliper is held in with 10mm bolts (or was that 11mm?) and also requires a 15mm wrench. The bracket is held in with 8mm (I think) allen head bolts.
