Question - Electric Fan Continues to turn on and off??

Question - Electric Fan Continues to turn on and off??
The electric fan on the passenger side of
the engine compartment continues to turn on
and off a few times a minute.
Is this fan part of the radiator cooling system
or a turbo cooling fan. This is OEM equipment on a 2000 A4 1.8. You can't see the fan just hear
the "zzzzz" sound.
All systems are normal when the car is running and there is no overheating.
The car is under warranty, but can't go to the
dealer until Monday. I suppose the fan turning on and off is probably not good in the long term. Is there a fuse that will shut off the fan? Or should I disconnect the battery until I take the car in for service.

Some cars are designed to let the fan run with the key off...
I don't think the A4 is one of them though.
It almost sounds like a stuck relay, although most fans will not turn on unless the ignition is on.

sounds like a bad fan controller/resistor pack.should only run after shut off for 10 minutes.could be temp switch,but most likely controller
