Question: if my tires say max press 51 PSI what should i run the PSI at?

i have 225/40 R18's currently i have them at 40 PSI what does everyone else run or what do they recomend? Thanks in advance

It's only printed there to protect the manufacturer. You can poll others as you have or calculate the correct pressure using vehicle weight and contact patch size*4, though this is a rough estimate only, and difficult to measure to boot.

my car does ride harder but the trade-off is less rolling resistance which equals quicker acceleration, less tire wear and better MPG. Works for me!!!
